Rhum Barbancourt Réserve du Domaine 15 Years is an agricole rum (made from pure sugarcane juice) from Haiti, internationally recognised for its elegance and complexity. It is distilled twice (first in a column still, then in a pot still) and subsequently aged for at least 15 years in French Limousin oak casks. This method is inspired by the cognac-making expertise of the founding family from the Charente region in France.
Once reserved exclusively for the Gardère family, this rum is now produced in limited quantities and offers a rich, well-balanced profile combining fruity, woody, and spicy notes.
Nose: Complex and aromatic, revealing notes of dried fruits (plums, raisins), vanilla, and toasted nuances. Hints of candied citrus fruits and light oak are also present.
Palate: The attack is powerful, with a rich and creamy body. The palate is dominated by fruity notes of plums, stewed pears, and citrus fruits, along with indulgent hints of caramel and cinnamon, enlivened by a touch of pepper.
Finish: Very long, complex, and spicy, with lingering notes of citrus and dried fruits, accompanied by a light, dry tannic note.
