The A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra – Black Edition is a limited, dark blended rum from the U.S. Virgin Islands, known for its intensive maturation in heavily charred oak casks, which gives it complex notes of molasses, tobacco, and dark chocolate.
The Black Edition is often described as very smooth, full-bodied, and creamy, with a pronounced sweetness.
Nose: Spicy-sweet notes of molasses, cedarwood, rich tobacco, oak, and hints of vanilla. Also featuring notes of peach, milk chocolate, and butterscotch.
Palate: Rich and deep, with flavours of milk chocolate, nuances of almonds and orange, plenty of caramel, bourbon vanilla, and returning spicy tobacco notes.
Finish: A long, spicy-sweet finish reminiscent of gingerbread with orange glaze.
