Bowsaw Small Batch Straight Rye Whiskey is a characterful American whiskey distilled and aged in Owensboro and Louisville, Kentucky. Produced in small batches, it embodies America’s rustic tradition with a modern approach. The mash bill consists of 95% rye and 5% malted barley (occasionally also noted with a small corn content), giving it a very spicy and intense profile.
It is aged for at least two to four years in new, heavily charred American oak barrels. The name “Bowsaw” refers to the traditional cooper’s saw used to cut barrel heads. To preserve its authentic flavour, the whiskey is bottled without chill filtration and without added colouring.
Nose: Spicy and complex with pronounced rye aromas, accompanied by notes of nutmeg, cloves, a hint of red chili, and sweet honey.
Palate: Full-bodied and harmonious, with bold layers of black pepper, cinnamon, and cloves, balanced by nuances of orange peel, toffee, and vanilla.
Finish: Long-lasting and warming, with characteristic rye spice, a fine oak note, and a final touch of gentle heat.
