Description
The Aberlour 16 Years Double Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Speyside region is distinguished by the depth and complexity it gains from 16 years of maturation in a combination of traditional American oak casks (ex-bourbon) and the finest Spanish sherry casks (Oloroso sherry butts). The whiskies from the different casks are only married together after the full maturation period, giving it a rich and well-balanced character.
This whisky offers a perfect balance of fruity, spicy, and soft oak notes and has received multiple awards, including gold medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Nose: Creamy with sweet raisin aromas and a spicy nuttiness, complemented by notes of ripe plums, apples, and delicate vanilla.
Palate: Smooth, full, and velvety, with a blend of floral and spicy flavors combined with sweet plum fruitiness, butterscotch, cinnamon, and gentle oak.
Finish: Wonderfully long and warming, with a honeyed sweetness, lingering oak notes, and a slight dryness accompanied by fruitiness.
