Arran Port Cask Finish is a single malt whisky from the Isle of Arran, gaining its distinctive depth through a two-stage maturation process. Initially, the whisky is matured for around eight years in traditional ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to hand-selected port wine casks from Portugal’s Douro Valley for finishing. This secondary maturation imparts a rich, bronze colour and a charming combination of sweet fruit notes and spicy oak. It is bottled without chill filtration and without added colouring.
This whisky impresses with its delicate balance and full, rounded character, making it particularly well suited as a digestif or paired with a cheese platter.
Nose: Rich raspberry juice, warm malt notes, and redcurrants, complemented by vanilla, spices, nuts, and ripe citrus fruits such as mandarins.
Palate: Full-bodied and velvety, with pronounced fruit notes of baked apples, raisins, plums, and cherries. Accompanied by flavours of cinnamon, butterscotch, chocolate, and a gentle peppery spice.
Finish: Long-lasting and warming, with lingering malty notes, sweet red fruits, and a dry oak spice.
