Ardnahoe Infinite Loch is the first core release from the young Ardnahoe Distillery on the island of Islay. The whisky is named after the nearby Loch Ardnahoe, the distillery’s water source, which on Islay is also known as the “Infinite Loch” due to its unknown depth. It is matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks (approx. 85%) and first-fill Oloroso sherry casks (approx. 15%).
This single malt is a prime example of the maritime Islay style, combining powerful peat smoke with sweet and citrus notes. It is bottled at a preferred strength of 50% ABV, without chill filtration and without added colouring, to preserve its authentic character.
Nose: Aromas of sea spray, classic Islay peat, and dark chocolate. Zesty notes of lemon and orange oil, malt biscuits, and a hint of mint are also present.
Palate: Oily and rich mouthfeel. Notes of menthol, fresh fruits such as apples and apricots, vanilla ice cream, and brown sugar are accompanied by intense campfire smoke, ash, and a salty sea breeze.
Finish: A long-lasting, smoky, and vibrant finish with lingering notes of charcoal, salty liquorice, and a gentle peppery warmth.
