Arran Signature Series Edition 3, named “Duero Discovery,” is the third release in this popular limited series, personally selected and signed by Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman. It is a 12-year-old, unpeated single malt that highlights the versatility of the Arran distillery. The whisky was initially matured for six years in first- and second-fill bourbon casks, before being transferred for a further six years into first-fill Spanish red wine casks from the Duero region.
This limited edition (15,049 bottles worldwide) is distinguished by its rich ruby-amber colour and a complex balance of oak spice, dark berries, and creamy vanilla.
Nose: Bright, with notes of caramelised fruits and hazelnuts, followed by hints of salted caramel and zesty grapefruit peel.
Palate: Full-bodied and complex. Pronounced oak notes paired with dark red berries and creamy vanilla. A touch of ginger, sweet spices, and anise adds depth.
Finish: Long, complex, and delightful. Notes of vanilla and toasted oak linger, accompanied by a sweet candy-like note.
